When the doors opened at the LUBM Training Hub 2025, it wasn’t just another networking event. It was a gathering of purpose, growth and building bonds. The event managed to build confidence, community, and connection, one LEGO brick at a time.
The Training Hub was held as part of LUBM’s mission to empower learners and alumni alike. It was a hands-on experience that went beyond handshakes and business cards. It brought together alumni, current learners, and prospective students in a space designed to foster authentic professional growth.
Coaching Meets Creativity
The Training Hub session was led by HR Specialist, Leadership Coach and Director of Coaching Culture International’s Middle East Chapter- Dr Kenny Chong. His unique approach helped reframe the way we think about networking. His session guided attendees through four distinct, LEGO based activities. They were excellent at making abstract concepts like self awareness, collaboration, and leadership feel surprisingly tangible.
The “Tower of Me” activity was a reflective exercise on strengths and personal growth. Attendees then identified their networking superpower and were encouraged to share their newfound skills within their groups. They were then guided to forge bonds through coaching style networking questions. Thus, attendees at the Training Hub connected with at least three other professionals. Lastly, participants envisioned their ideal university and networking environment.
Perhaps the most unique element was how Dr Chog incorporated LEGOs into their learning. Participants were encouraged not just to talk about their journey but to build it. One brick at a time, the room was filled with stories, insights, and ideas. They were all shared within the carefully nurtured moments of honest connection. Each activity was a reminder that great networks don’t just form. Indeed, they are constructed intentionally, with empathy, clarity, and shared purpose.
