All kinds of personal data collected from all channels fall under the roof of the privacy notice. Further, the data can be in electronic format from LUBM’s websites and other online platforms, hardcopy layout, and/or verbal communication.
When you use our Online Platforms, you set out an impression that you agree with this Privacy Notice. Also that the processing of personal information described herein is okay by you. If you agree to disagree, please refrain from accessing our Online Platforms.

Definition

Personal data is defined as any information or a set of information that identifies or could be used by or in place of LUBM to recognize an individual or a legal entity.

What data do we collect?

Every time you interact with our Online Platforms, we collect your personal data. As simple as which pages you visit or which pages hold your attention. We also stock up data related to your device (e.g. your hardware model, operating system version, or unique device identifier) or log information. It is the information automatically collected when you browse our Online Platforms in server logs. The said information includes internet protocol (IP) address and device and event information which can include crashes, system activity, browser type, browser language and date and time of browsing activities.

Information you actively provide to us

Sharing with us your personal data through our Online Platforms enables you to (1) create your personal account, (2) request information, (3) sign up to receive (i) newsletters, (ii) research outputs and (iii) similar e-mails (subscriptions), (4) apply for programs, (5) participate in surveys and (6) access various LUBM services including the alumni directory.
Your personal data is received at your own will and consent. To ensure that the content that we deliver is what you look forward to exploring and matches your interests and requirements, we ask you to provide us with additional information time and again. Besides, we want you to benefit from our services. We store this data only for a period necessary to either fulfill a legal or contractual obligation or for a justified business purpose.

Sharing of data

You can rest assured that your personal data is disclosed only and only if necessary. Under certain and bounded events, it may become important for us to reveal and share some of your data with third parties. For sample, your personal data may be shared with:
  1. Subcontractors/Partners, which support LUBM in performing its services
  2. Any third party to which we are ordered or obliged to disclose such information because of a court order, governmental authority and/or by law
  3. Any relevant entity for emergency purposes that compel such disclosure.
We will not pass on, sell or in any other way publish your data to any third party for commercial purposes without your consent. However, we may share non-personally identifiable data with third-party to continue the improvement of our online services and customer learning experience. An example can be Google Analytics. Here, the generated customized reports enable us to understand web traffic trends, user behavior, and similar benchmarks. Worthy of mentioning, all such third parties are prohibited from using or transmitting such data for any other purpose than to provide us with information.
Lastly, we want to inform and advise you that, there is a possibility that when you use our Online Platforms, some third parties still collect or access some of your data without LUBM knowing. At this point, we are helpless and cannot prevent them from doing so. These third parties can include cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. Our Online Platforms may also contain links to other sites. To keep you safe and informed, we actively encourage you to consult their Privacy Notices given LUBM has no control over these.

Security, internet security and integrity

We take valid precautions to protect your personal data in our care and control. We try to keep the data safe from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. We allow personal data access only to LUBM employees and subcontractors/partners who require necessary access to this information. Moreover, we also maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that act in accordance with applicable laws to shield personal data.
At LUBM we try our level best to follow industry-standard security. However, no data shared through the internet and/or stored on servers is 100% secure. As a result, we are unable to ensure that any personal data under this Privacy Notice will be entirely safe and secure.

Access and ability to correct personal data

As a user, you have the privilege to access, rectify, correct or update any personal data. You can also unsubscribe from mailing lists, terminate other data exchanges, and/or exercise your additional rights, which includes objecting to our processing of your data. To do so, follow the instructions or use the functionality on appropriate Online Platforms pages or shoot us an email to info@lincoln-edu.ae. We will act in favour of your request within 30 days of its receipt. Please know that your personal data may reflect in paper documents generated prior to your request and in our backup systems. Besides, this information will be inaccessible to LUBM staff for any business or operational purposes.
You are entitled to file a complaint with respect to our processing of your personal data with the relevant supervisory authority.
