We live in a world where displacement and cultural adaptation are increasingly common. Thus, having a strong community can make all the difference to our quality of life. And Enas Elghrouri, a senior HR professional, is well aware of this. She has dedicated her career to ensuring people feel supported- both in the workplace and in life. She achieves this as a co-founder of M3lesh; a thriving community for Arabs in the UK. At its helm, she has created a space where people can find belonging, mental health support, and opportunities to flourish.

She states that her journey to this success was shaped by two things. Firstly, her passion for helping people and being part of a community. Secondly, her knowledge of practical strategies to implement her dreams, which she mastered during her MBA at York St. John University through LUBM.

The Birth of M3lesh: A Story of Inspiration Turned to Action

The idea for M3lesh took root when Enas saw the profound impact a strong community could have on someone’s life. A close friend, who was also an ambitious professional on the path to C-suite leadership, saw his career derailed by an unexpected accident. A simple insect bite, coupled with delayed medical attention, permanently altered his trajectory. However, humanity stepped in to improve things. In his time of crisis, his community rallied around him. Together, they worked to protect his job, provide support, and ensure he was not left behind.

This act of collective strength deeply moved Enas. It also inspired her and Dina (co-founder, senior Sales and Marketing professional) to create a similar safe place for Arabs navigating life in a foreign land. Thus, M3lesh was born. As co-founders, she and Dina envision it as a home away from home, where individuals can garner support and form friendships.

The word M3lesh is commonly used to indicate that ‘it will be okay’. In Enas’s words, M3lesh is like “a pat on the shoulder from a friend or loved one.” It truly lives up to its name, as it works to support its member’s mental health. M3lesh is dedicated to enhancing the mental well being of the Arab community in the UK by fostering a culture of empowerment, connection, and positive contribution. It is based on three key pillars. The first is raising awareness about mental well-being and what Arab community might need in the UK. Secondly, it works to provide stress relief through music, creative activities, and meaningful engagement. Lastly, it fosters a healthy networking environment that supports personal and professional growth.

It integrates the talents of AI and collaborates with talented Arab university students to create engaging, dynamic events. Thus, it uplifts newcomer or long time Arab residents by bringing together Arab talents from diverse sectors, professions and backgrounds. Today, M3lesh is a beacon of unity and cultural connection for Arabs in the UK. In time, Enas and Dina hope to expand M3lesh’s reach and help even more people.

The Role of LUBM in Enas’s Journey

It was Enas and Dina’s compassion and creativity that fueled M3lesh. However, she also credits her MBA from York St. John University, delivered through LUBM. She believes that it equipped her with the strategies and techniques needed to turn her vision into a thriving reality.

“YSJ through LUBM was great, but the help and support I got from LUBM was exceptional,” she shares. “I’m particularly happy that I’d get my queries answered and support from them as quickly as five minutes of asking.”

Dina was also inspired by the impact of the MBA had on Enas’s life. According to Dina, she was interested in pursuing an MBA through LUBM despite her many professional certifications. She was interested in a degree from York st. John university. As she revealed to Enas, “The MBA now plays a vital role in elevating your business and career and it’s definitely my next step in further learning.”

Her studies gave her insights into leadership, HR strategy, and organizational management. Enas has applied all of it to building and growing M3lesh. It has helped her keep M3lesh’s guiding principles alive by contributing to its running. Besides, we see it in the stellar community engagement management iconic to M3lesh. Further, it helps with ensuring that mental health advocacy remains at the forefront of the community. Enas has creatively applied her learnings directly to M3lesh’s success.

Empowering Change, One Person at a Time

At its heart, M3lesh is more than just a community. It’s a movement. It’s an initiative that works to prove that ‘things will be alright’. By prioritizing mental well being and fostering a sense of unity, Enas has created a safe space for Arabs in the UK. Thus, members can discuss their lives, and troubles and unburden themselves. Her journey is a testament to how education, leadership, and a meaningful support system can drive impactful change.

At LUBM, stories like Enas’s are at the core of what we stand for. We’re proud to empower professionals with globally recognized business degrees that invite success. Whether it’s in corporate boardrooms or community-driven initiatives, our graduates continue to shape the world in their own unique ways.

As M3lesh expands, Enas’s mission remains clear: to ensure that no one feels alone, that every Arab in the UK has a support system, and that, together, they can build a life well lived. Those in the UK that are interested in joining the community are in luck. An event hosted on the 8th of April is your foot into this bright environment.
